Why Vapour Recovery?

Most governments worldwide have introduced regulations controlling vapour emissions from refineries, loading terminals and petrochemical plants.

Extensive research has established that traditional methods used for hydrocarbon vapour recovery have significant limitations when considering environmental impact, safety and economic factors.

Hydrocarbons released into the atmosphere can create major environmental pollution, photochemical smog, and contribute to global warming. In many applications a VRU can pay for itself in a relatively short period of time, simply by recovering product which would otherwise be lost. Surveys have shown there are major losses in production through vapour from tank vents and when loading road, rail and marine tankers.
